Chair from FDB Møbler / FurnitureJ173 by Poul M. Volther
J173 was designed by Poul M. Volther in 1960. However, the chair has never been in production until now, and the drawing has been in FDB Furniture's archives for 60 years. The chair bears clear marks of the past, but also of the present. The comfortable sitting experience and the beautiful and simple design language make this an excellent chair. The chair is made of oak or walnut with a frame in powder-coated steel. The tree is FSC-certified and comes from European forests.
Poul M. Volther was the successor to Børge Mogensen as studio manager for FDB Furniture. He took over the job in 1950 and, like his predecessor, was very preoccupied with a functionalist and simple design.
