We are a webshop that believes in taking responsibility for the environment and ethics, and this is a core value of our business. Responsibility is about caring for the planet and the people who live on it, and it's an important part of our business model.

We recognise that the fashion and furniture industry has a major impact on the environment and society. That's why we carefully select the products we sell and work with our suppliers to ensure that they also take the environment and ethics seriously.

We prioritise selling high-quality clothing, furniture and interiors that can last for many years and contribute to a less dominant buy-and-throw-away culture. That's why we offer a wide selection of responsible brands that use good materials and have good social ethics.

We also take responsibility for our packaging and shipping. We mainly use recyclable materials in our shipping packaging and we work with environmentally conscious delivery companies that are strong in green renewable energy.

Our commitment to our responsibility is part of our overall mission to create a more responsible and conscious business model. We believe that small actions can have a big impact, but at the same time we recognise that there is a long way to go to reach the sustainable utopia. It is a process that takes time to implement both in our company but also in the overall mindset of society - but we are enthusiastic and want to make a difference where we can.

Furniture Purchasing

Sensible purchasing

We take our responsibility for procurement very seriously and endeavour to keep inventory levels to a minimum. We aim to buy to order and directly to the end customer, rather than overstocking our warehouse with unsaleable items. Our purchases are carefully considered and we rarely take chances when it comes to buying large quantities. This way we can minimise the production of unnecessary products, which benefits our suppliers, us and our environment.

Quality and design

Quality is at the centre of our brand and everything we stand for at Byflou.com. We focus on brands and products with high quality and reject those with quality that does not live up to our standards. We believe that quality is the key to durable and functional furniture and interior design that can be used over and over again for many years. Our furniture is selected to transcend both generations and interiors and will always have a timeless and elegant style.

Restoration and care

We believe that products should be durable and easy to maintain. That's why we offer spare parts and treatment for our products. Many suppliers produce spare parts so that end users can repair their products themselves rather than buying a new one. This way you can extend the life of the product and reduce your impact on the environment. We also offer reupholstery of cushions for a selection of our furniture, so they can stay modern and last longer without having to buy new ones.

Know the customer

When you buy something, you want to be able to sell it again, and that's what we think about when we select our products. We know our customers and want to give them the best selection of styles and sizes. At the same time, we avoid supplementing our stock on main collections, as we want to maintain exclusivity and minimise our inventory. We always research a brand's ethical profile before adding them to our selection and with the growing demand for ethical fashion, it's a natural part of our purchasing strategy.

Quality over quantity

We believe that quality and price are linked, and we always emphasise quality over quantity. Longer-lasting clothes are inherently more responsible, as they reduce the need to buy new clothes frequently. We want to put an end to the buy-and-throw-out culture and instead focus on timeless styles that are fashionable for several seasons, as well as good basic styles that can be a permanent part of the wardrobe all year round. This way, you can create a smaller wardrobe that is still highly functional and versatile.

Washing and care

To prolong the life of our products, we encourage our customers to give their clothes and jewellery the best possible care. We offer guides and tutorials on how to best care for your products. Laundry requires large amounts of water and frequent washing is rarely necessary. That's why we sell alternative ways to care for your clothes, such as steam and scent. This way you can both extend the life of the product and reduce the negative impact on the environment.

Shipping & Delivery

Climate compensated packages

DHL is one of the leading players in shipping and logistics, and they actively take responsibility for their impact on the environment. By offering climate-compensated parcels and green logistics solutions, they help reduce CO2 emissions from their operations. This includes the use of renewable energy in their means of transport, such as cars, trucks, planes and ships, as well as using responsible transport solutions for final delivery with electric vehicles or bicycles.

CO2-free to a million Danes

Bring has reached an important milestone in their green transition by now delivering CO2-free to a million Danes. With the addition of more electric cars to cities such as Fredericia, Vejle and Kolding, Bring is expanding their environmentally friendly delivery service, which already included the capital region and other larger areas. This initiative is part of the company's wider goal to become completely fossil-free in Denmark by 2025.

Warehouse & Packaging

Optimising packaging

We make a virtue of optimizing our packaging to minimize our impact on the environment. When we pack your purchase, we use the smallest possible box to avoid wasting space, and we keep an eye on the right balance between necessary filling in the packages and the fragility of the product. We prioritize the use of original packaging from the suppliers and at the same time our cardboard boxes are made from 95% recycled material and our mail order bags are made from 80% recycled plastic.

Packaging filling from waste

We believe in recycling all waste materials, which is why we shred our own leftover cardboard into functional packaging filler. This has significantly reduced our use of 1st generation fillings after the implementation of recycled fillings. The packaging filler is thicker than similar plastic fillers, but at the same time is gentle on the surface of the products. In one year, we have reduced our use of all fillings by almost 50% through optimisation of packaging and pack sizes.

Alternative tape

We have implemented the use of paper tape instead of plastic tape. Paper tape is much more efficient and durable compared to plastic tape, which has significantly reduced our use of tape. At the same time, it makes it easier for our customers to sort and recycle their packaging, as the paper tape can be sorted together with the cardboard and paper packaging.

Alternative transport

We believe in alternative transport solutions that can reduce our impact on the environment. That's why we have a carpooling scheme for colleagues who live further away from the workplace. We encourage our employees to use public transport or more responsible choices such as travelling by train, bike or walking to work. We have also invested in electric cars for professional use and have set up charging stations to ensure that our employees' electrical cars are always fuelled with green energy.

Events for customers and staff

We are not in favour of throwing away products that are in good working order, which is why we have a programme where employees have the opportunity to buy returned products so that they are not simply thrown away. We also organise warehouse sales for customers, where we sell off returned og lightly damaged products that are still functional and beautiful at a small fraction of the price. This way, we can avoid wasting resources and at the same time give our customers the opportunity to buy quality products at even more affordable prices.

Customer Service

Minimising returns

We will do our part to avoid unnecessary returns of goods, as shipping and handling require a lot of environmentally damaging resources. That's why we don't offer free returns abroad, nor do we despatch orders unless absolutely necessary. This has proven to be an effective way to reduce returns while protecting the environment and our employees.

Informative customer service

Many returns can actually be avoided through informed purchases. That's why we have a solution-orientated and helpful customer service that can always find a good solution that both compensates the customer and avoids unnecessary returns. We also provide detailed product descriptions, pictures and good advice about our products through our customer service, so that our customers avoid buying incorrectly.

Reduction of paper

To care for our environment and forests, we have taken the initiative to reduce our paper consumption by not including return and delivery notes in the majority of our orders. Instead, invoices and return notes are sent digitally directly to the customer. This change has resulted in an annual paper saving of over one ton, equivalent to the paper pulp from about 50 trees per year.

                                            Practice
                                            These terms and conditions apply to all transactions conducted at Byflou. That is, when you use our site or place an order with us, you agree to these terms and conditions.

                                            Be sure to read the terms and conditions before placing your order. If in doubt, please feel free to contact us.

                                            Besides here, you will also find the terms and conditions when you place an order. However, be aware that these may change. The terms and conditions apply to the purchase of goods for delivery in EU countries and Norway, unless otherwise agreed.

                                            Terms for ordering
                                            Byflou is open 24 hours a day so you can always shop. It happens, however, that the store may be closed for maintenance. Of course it is only possible to make a purchase when the shop is open and available. To shop on Byflou, you must be 18 years old and possess a valid credit card.

                                            However, it is still possible to shop with us, if you have obtained your parent's or guardian's consent, and has the legal right to enter into the purchase.

                                            Ordering of goods and Receipt
                                            You select the products you wish to buy and add them to your shopping cart. Up to the time of ordering you can edit the contents of the shopping cart and you can continuously check the contents and price of the goods.

                                            As soon as you have completed your purchase, you will receive an email with your order confirmation. When your order is completed, you will receive a second email. This email serves as your receipt. Here you will also find a link to PostNord's Track & Trace. The receipt will also be found in your package.

                                            Note that it may take a few hours before PostNord scans your package - it may take up to 24 hours before you can follow your package via Track & Trace.

                                            Payment of order
                                            Once you are ready to order, click on "Continue" at the bottom of the shopping cart page. Here you enter your name, address, email and phone number, and select a delivery method. It is possible to choose an alternative delivery address in case you want it delivered to your workplace or elsewhere.

                                            All prices are current prices and are including Danish VAT (if you select Norway as delivery destination, the prices are shown without Danish VAT). Any additional charges will be calculated on the information page that comes just before the payment page.

                                            You can pay with Dankort, VISA/Dankort, VISA, VISA Electron, Eurocard, Maestro, MasterCard, MasterCard Debit, Klarna, MobilePay (Danish phone numbers only) and PayPal.

                                            The purchase amount will not be deducted from your account until the goods are shipped. We will cover any card fees associated with your purchase.

                                            Secure Payment
                                            It is safe to shop in our webshop. The credit card information is transferred in encrypted form using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). This encryption technology has a high safety standard. The information is sent via a secure connection and your card information can not be read by unauthorized persons. This means it is only the payment provider NETS who can read your data. Neither Byflou nor others have the ability to read data. In addition, we use the ePay payment gateway that is certified by the PCI standard.

                                            Shipping & Delivery
                                            All orders are shipped from Denmark. We strive to ship your package within 24 hours after you have placed your order. If you place your order before 1 pm. on weekdays, we will do everything we can to make sure the goods will be shipped the same day. Shipping is via PostNord and their partners in other countries. All our shipments are sent insured and you will receive a Track & Trace number by mail when the order is shipped. We deliver to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom.

                                            Our official shipping charges are not valid for larger pieces of furniture as these are delivered by international freight forwarders. In such cases, we will contact you regarding the shipping charges, before your order is completed.

                                            Customs and VAT inside and outside the EU
                                            If you order from another EU country, you do not pay additional customs duty and VAT, as other EU countries are exempt from duty under the rules on the free movement of goods within the EU. VAT and duty is already paid in Denmark by Danish legislation, therefore you do not have to pay it again.

                                            However, if you order from a country outside the EU, the goods may be detained at customs, and the package may be affected by local taxes and duties, which we can not be held responsible for. Be aware that the detention of your package at customs can delay shipment significantly. Should you find out that the package is detained, you should immediately contact the freight company. When you get your package delivered to a country outside the EU, we deduct Danish VAT before we finish the order. You will be responsible for the declaration and import duty and taxes for your own package in countries outside the EU, with the exemption of Norway where we automatically pay 160 NOK (a charge to the shipping company PostNord) for the customs declaration for you. This amount is always added to the shipping costs to Norway. However, you still need to pay additional Norwegian customs duty on orders containing clothes (please visit the Norwegian Customs website for more info and to calculate the specific taxes you need to pay).

                                            30 days extended right of cancellation

                                            When you shop at Byflou, you have a full 30 days to cancel. To use this extended right of withdrawal, you must send your order back to us within 30 days upon receipt. If we have not received the order within the 30 days, the package must be located via Track & Trace. Remember to keep the Track & Trace number of the package because the return is your responsibility. Using Track & Trace, we can also see when you sent the product back to us, which must happen within 30 days upon receipt. Please notice that returns are paid by the customer.

                                            Conditions of 30 days right of cancellation
                                            Your cancellation right begins from the day you received the goods. If the period expires on a public holiday, Saturday, Constitution Day, Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve, the deadline is extended to the following Monday. In the case of multiple goods ordered in one order but delivered separately, or a product delivered in several batches, the period starts from the receipt of the final product. Some items are not subject to withdrawal. Furthermore, you can lose the right of withdrawal by breaking included hangtags, labels or seals. If the item is delivered sealed, you lose the right of withdrawal if you break the seal.

                                            PLEASE NOTICE: Custom-made furniture is not covered by the right of withdrawal. You can not return any furniture that is ordered specifically for you, as this is designer furniture, and goes under the category custom made furniture. We do not have any furniture in stock, and all furniture is therefore custom made and ordered only after an order has been placed. Read more about this in the Danish Sale of Goods Act.

                                            You are allowed to try the product on
                                            As a consumer, you may test the product and try it on at home, just as you would do in a physical store. This means you should handle the goods in a way so that you can determine whether the products live up to your expectations or not. Do you, however, take your goods in use, you can only get part of or none of the purchase amount back.

                                            Treat the product with care before returning it
                                            As a consumer,  you are the one who have to pay for any impairment of a products value. Product value is determined by what we can get for it in a resale. If you have used the product or removed any hangtags and labels, we can no longer sell the product and thereby the depreciation will be up to 100%.

                                            Returns
                                            If you regret your purchase, the goods must be returned in protective packaging to:

                                            You must fill out the return form, which you find in the received packet, and enclose it in your return package. If you have lost your return form, you can contact our customer service to get a new one. It is important that the package is securely wrapped, because you are responsible for both the package and the goods until Byflou receive them. Therefore, keep your shipment receipt and any Track & Trace number.

                                            PLEASE NOTICE: We enclose a return form in all our shipments, and we do not accept cash on delivery parcels (COD) or packages sent without door-to-door delivery to our address stated above. Returns are paid by the customer.

                                            Exchange
                                            If you wish to exchange an item for another color, size or the like, you need to send the product back to us. When we receive the product, the money is transferred to the credit card used for the purchase. In the meantime, or thereafter, you can order the new size, color or product from Byflou that you want to exchange for.

                                            Exchange of gifts
                                            If you have been lucky enough to receive a gift, purchased at Byflou and want to return or exchange it, you can easily do this. You have 30 days to either swap for another item of equal value or to obtain a gift certificate / voucher that you can use when it suits you. This, however, within 5 years. For you to exchange your gift, you must be in possession of the original receipt and the return form.

                                            If you find a product that is more expensive than the gift, you have the option of paying the difference and get the new product sent instead. To take advantage of our exchange system, fill out the return form and enclose it in the shipping package along with the returned item.

                                            Returning Items are paid entirely by the customer. The item must be returned unused and in the same condition as when received - with intact hangtags fixed to the item. It is important to underline that items without hangtags will not be taken back or exchanged. When we receive the product, we will contact you or you can email customer service to arrange a gift card, a voucher or an exchange.

                                            Refunds
                                            Once we receive your return order, we will check the products and you will get the amount refunded, which you have paid to us upon purchase, if our conditions regarding the right of cancellation and "used goods" are met. We will initiate a refund within 14 days after we receive your return order. We reserve the right to withhold payment until the goods are received or until we receive documentation that the item has been returned.

                                            The amount is always transferred back to the same payment method you used to pay for the purchase. If you have paid by card, the purchase amount is returned to the payment card you used for the purchase.

                                            NOTE: If you have received free shipping and decide to return a part of your order, a shipping fee will be deducted from the return amount, if the remaining order value falls below the amount that qualifies for a free shipping.

                                            ATTENTION!! You may lose your purchase amount, in whole or in part. This happens if the product is impaired because:

                                            - The product has been used.
                                            - Product was damaged while it was subject to your responsibility.
                                            - The product has been handled in another way than necessary in order to determine the nature, quality and function.
                                            - The conditions of the right of withdrawal have not been met regarding hang tags, product type, etc.

                                            Claims and Warranty
                                            You have a 24 months warranty, which means that you can either get a faulty product repaired, replaced, a refund or reduction in price, depending on the specific situation. The claim must of course be justified. The error or fault of the goods must not be caused by an inappropriate use of the product or other injurious behavior. This includes e.g. that the product has not been washed the right way according to the Washing Symbols listed in it.

                                            To make a claim, you must first contact us by mail [email protected] or by telephone at +45 41 40 00 77. Often we can handle the claim via mail and pictures. After your inquiry, you will get additional information about the process for claiming.

                                            When you return the item, please disclose as detailed as possible what the problem is. Please use our return form, attached to the order. It is not a requirement, but it eases our casework and minimizes processing time for the claim.

                                            You must claim as soon as possible after you discover the error. The Danish Sale of Goods Act states that you make your claim within a reasonable time after discovering the error - we suggest within two months.

                                            If the complaint is justified, we will of course refund reasonable freight costs for your return shipment as well. If the complaint is not justified, you must carry all costs of transport, including our freight costs for returning the item to you, and we may charge you an amount of up to 8 € for the examination of the goods. We only want happy customers and can only encourage you to contact us if there are any problems with the goods you have purchased.

                                            Remember to always send the goods in protective packaging and get a receipt for the shipment. You have the responsibility for the package / goods up to our reception. So please keep the postal receipt incl. information about freight costs, as well as any. Track & Trace number.

                                            If there are any defects in the goods you have purchased, Byflou will meet all legal guarantees and regulations.

                                            Complaint or other legal request
                                            Purchases of goods from Byflou is subject to Danish law. Any disputes shall be settled at the Danish courts.

                                            The Danish Sale of Goods Act / Act on Consumer Contracts / Law on Consumer Protection, which supervises your rights as a consumer and customer of course also apply when you shop with us.

                                            If you have a complaint about your purchase, please send an email to [email protected] or call +45 41 40 00 77. If we can not find a solution together, you can submit a complaint to the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark, at forbrug.dk. Here, you can also read more about the legislation on e-commerce in Denmark.

                                            If you are a resident of an EU country other than Denmark, you can appeal to the EU Commission's online complaint portal.

                                            We reserve the right for errors and mistakes
                                            Mistakes happen. This may be at the stockroom, a typing error or an incorrect pricetag on an item. Therefore, we accept your purchase only once we have approved your payment and sent the goods to you. We therefore reserve the right for sold out items, as well as printing, programming and typing errors. If you order an item that is sold out, we will immediately contact you - and your payment will be canceled.

                                            Colors
                                            The actual colors you see on the items at Byflou depends on the screen settings on your computer, tablet or smart phone. Therefore, we can not guarantee that your device displays the accurate color as the item upon delivery. However, we try to clearly and plainly reproduce color, cut and material for each product.

                                            Secrecy
                                            Byflou takes responsibility for all the personal information that you provide to us. We use the information to assess the agreement and carry out the delivery, to administer the customer relationship that comes with it, pursue outstanding payments, fight fraud and abuse and to comply with statutory regulations.

                                            Liability
                                            Byflou is not responsible for any damage to you, with the exception of cases where the company's liability insurance covers the damage and where it is assumed that the insurer approves that payment can take place. In addition to these cases, Byflou's liability is limited to the maximum amount that represents the purchase price of the concerned item / items. Byflou is not responsible for consequential damages.

                                            Force majeure
                                            In the case of force majeure, Byflou ceases its obligations. If the period of force majeure is longer than 2 months, both you and Byflou have the right to terminate the agreement, without any liability for damages in such cases. Force majeure means strikes, staff illness, transport disturbances and import / export bans, regardless of whether this occurs at the company or its suppliers.

                                            All content on Byflou including texts, images etc. is protected by copyright law. Copying or other use of the content on Byflou may only happen after receiving a written consent. Unauthorized use of content on Byflou will lead to prosecution.



                                            Cookies and Privacy Policy

                                            Introduction
                                            When you visit our website or if you are a customer of Byflou.com, we collect information about you which is used to customize and improve our content and to optimize  ads displayed on the page. If you do not wish that we collect information about you, you should delete your cookies (see instructions below) and avoid further use of the site. Below we will explain what information is collected, why it is collected and which third parties have access to them.

                                            The website uses "cookies", which is a text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or mobile device. The purpose of a cookie is to remember specific settings made on that device, to perform statistics, and to target ads. Cookies can not contain malicious code such as virus.

                                            If you want to delete your cookies, use Google or any other search engine and search for "Delete Cookies" and the name of your browser and then follow the instructions.

                                            If you delete or block cookies, ads may become less relevant to you and occur more frequently. In addition, you may risk that the site is not functioning properly and that there are content you can not access. It will not be possible for you to complete an order without using cookies for example.

                                            Personal information is any kind of information that may be attributed to you to some extent.                                             We do not handle your credit card information ourselves when you make a purchase with us. These are handled safely by the payment operators Nets, Epay and Teller. We typically collect and process the following types of information: A unique ID and technical information about your computer, tablet or mobile phone, your IP address, geographic location, and which pages you click on (interests). To the extent that you explicitly consent to this and enter the information yourself, we also collect the following information: Name, phone number, email, address and payment information.                                             Period of storage
                                            The information is kept for the time period allowed by law and we delete them when they are no longer necessary. The period depends on the nature of the information and the reason for the storage. Therefore, it is not possible to specify a general timeframe for when information is deleted.

                                            Disclosure of information
                                            Data about your use of the website, which ads you receive and, if any, click on, geographic location, gender and age segment etc. is disclosed to third parties to the extent that this information is known.
