Songbird

The songbird is an essential element in Kay Bojesen's whimsical collection of wooden figures. The colourful birds are all inspired by different parts of Kay Bojesen's life or the world around him and he has named the birds accordingly. This gives each little bird its own personality and narrative that can be moved into the home. Although the first birds in the collection were designed in the 1950s, the birds have never before been in production. As a result, the whimsical characters have become a modern classic, making an ideal gift to mark important times in life when you need a flying start.

Each year a 'Year Bird' is launched, collecting elements from the given year as well as wishes from some of Kay Bojesen's biggest fans, and creating a Songbird from them. The bird represents the year in its new colour combination, but sometimes also varies in size.
