Table Lamp from &traditionFormakami Table lamp / JH18
The Forakami series is yet another piece of art by Jamie Hayon that fuses cultural characteristics and minimalist modernity. In the lamp series, the Spanish designer has taken inspiration from Asian rice paper lanterns, which are traditionally decorated in vibrant colors and cultural patterns. Formakami has the same authentic shapes executed in white paper, combined with elements of black-stained oak, giving the lamp a cleaner look that characterizes the western culture. The table lamp is perfect for creating a diffused light in the livingroom or bedroom.
The Spanish artist and designer, Jamie Hayon, set up his own studio in 2000, where he has designed countless furniture, lamps, hotel interiors, shops, a variety of ceramics, shoes and his own collection of watches. With designs on display at museums around the world, Hayon is at the forefront of a new wave of talent blurring the lines between art, decoration and design. Hayon, who manages several design offices in Italy, Spain and Japan, is eager to explore new and expressive forms, while maintaining a deep respect for craft skills, whimsical details and a passion for experimentation.
