Shoe Shi Bar was established in 2002 by the family Souid. The family has roots in both Africa, Italy and Denmark, which also finds expression through all of their collections. The first collection from Shoe Shi Bar was "born" in Aarhus, and in 2003 they presented the, more commercial line, which was named S// Bar. This line was more "everyday wear", where the Shi Bar Shoe collection was very high fashion.

In 2004, the international fashion world caught the attention for the Danish shoe brand, after having been shown to both the Bread & Butter and Who's Next in Paris. Stars like Peter Stormare, Alice Copper, Anastasia and Kanye West were seen with the shoes on their feet. And in 2006 they were nominated for the Worlds Best Footwear prize of the international fashion magazine, Sportswear International.
